Itinerary
- Day 1Yazd
Arrive Yazd. Sunset walk through the mud-brick old town and a rooftop dinner.
- Day 2Garmeh
Drive to the oasis village of Garmeh. Afternoon walk through palm groves to the spring.
- Day 3Mesr Dunes
Camel trek into the Mesr dunes. Dinner around a fire at a clay caravanserai. Sleep on a rooftop under the stars.
- Day 4Kaluts
Drive to the Kaluts — wind-sculpted yardang formations stretching to the horizon. Sunset photography, then stargazing.
- Day 5Shahdad
Sunrise over the Kaluts, visit a traditional qanat (underground aqueduct), drive to Kerman.
- Day 6Kerman
Ganjali Khan complex and bazaar, then transfer to Kerman airport for onward flight.
Best time to go
October through April. Summer daytime temperatures in the Lut routinely exceed 60°C (140°F) and we do not run desert tours from June through September.
